Carli Lloyd had a pretty good 2008. Career highs in goals and assists for the national team. The U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year Award. Allocated to the Chicago Fire of the WPS. And oh yeah, she scored the winning goal in overtime in the Olympic gold medal game. So, in a special feature on the WNT Blog, we're giving you the chance to ask Carli some questions. (The first edition, "Ask Chups" with Lori Chalupny was quite successful). So, post your question(s) for Carli and we'll take a few of the good ones and have her respond in kind on the Blog in a few days. As always, we are looking for original, insightful and interesting questions. So go ahead, Ask Carli...

What do you feel is the best piece of advice you could give to a College Soccer Player in hopes to become as skilled as you someday?
Was there ever a time in your soccer playing career that you didn't make a certain team or roster? if so, how did you deal with that and what did you do to make it the next time around?
Which teammate/s are you most looking forward to playing against in the new WPS league? Does anyone stand out as a partucular challenge?
Carli - first off, PHENOMENAL finish in the Olympics! Thanks for the memory! As for my question, who do you see as the top 3 or 4 prospects that we can expect to hear more about in the next couple of years?
In 2010 Philly will be joining the WPS. What are is your opinion about it? Would you play for philly?
Carli,
Do you think you can score another goal like the one you scored against Brazil in the Gold Medal Match?
AJ
Great 2008!!! Where is the most intersting place that you've travelled for soccer? Thanks and good luck in 2009!!!
It seems like you always score goals at the right place and the right time. But whenever you take a shot do you ever feel really nervous or are you more relaxed and collected? And during the Olympics against Brazil, after you connected with the ball, did you know that it was going to go in?
Which of your national team teammates are you most looking forward to playing against in the WPS? Thanks for answering. You're awesome!
The Beijing Olympics was great and truly awesome! My question to you is .. what is your advice for the girls and young ladies out there who wish to represent their country someday in the Olympics?
Carli,
Your awesome! you are a great player to watch. when you were growing up who was you biggest inspiration and why?
Can't wait to see you in the WPS,
~ Emily
What keeps you motivated?
Off the pitch, what is the most amazing thing you have done (sky diving, bull riding, serving for a week building a house for a family, etc. etc.)? What would be included on a list of things you would like to do in your spare time?
Does all the traveling ever wear you down or make you jet lagged? How do you recover from such long trips such as the 12 hour flight to China and still have enough energy to preform as well as you do on the field?
I have two questions... first is when was the turning point in your career where you said to yourself I want to be a pro soccer player? second is, was Rutgers always the college you wanted to go to or did you have some other dream college?
Carli,
I am assuming you were like every child one day dreaming of going to the Olympics and world cup, winning the game for your country and team. But when did you actually start to think, "wait I can actually do that" and what made you think that?
Thanks and great job in China!!!
If you weren't a professional soccer player, what would you be doing right now?
Everyone asked all the good soccer questions......
Do you have any good stories about some of the high profile athletes/celebrities you have meet? If you could hang out or train with or get some soccer advise from one male footballer, who would it be?
Which national team would you say is the most competitive and difficult to play? Second who would you really not want to play aganist on your team? Thanks
First off Carli, congratulations on all of your accomplishments this past year. I love watching you play..you have such a confidence on the ball and you're just all around fun to watch..but if you weren't playing soccer, what do you think you would be doing?
what do you like to do in your spare time, time not devoted to soccer?
Carli, you're a terrific role model. What advice do you have for young athletes who want to successfully balance school and sports? What does it take--what habits, values, routines are important--to be an outstanding student and world-class athlete?
Hey Carli,
It's so cool we may ask you a question. I have two for you. First of all, what do you guys like to do as a team (National Team). My other one is, because I am getting a tattoo in short future. It will be a National Team logo with a word underneath it, can you please help me pick a word, something like dedication, commitment, sacrifice or maybe you have something else? Thank you sooooo much

Agata
Do you ever heard about women's soccer in Poland?

Carli,
My trainer for my soccer team claims to have trained you and Heather O'Reilly. My trainer's name is George Romano. He played for Trinidad. And two girls from the team a year younger than mine got an autograph from you. So is he big talk or not?
