Bingo Night: Part II

The U.S. team is loose and relaxed in advance of its quarterfinal against England tomorrow, and what better way to take your mind off things than a friendly game of Bingo? The team had played Bingo in Shanghai, but the stakes were upped this time as general manager Cheryl Bailey purchased some nifty prizes. Cat Whitehill took top honors, winning an iPod Shuffle as well as a t-shirt that read, “I love Football,” which of course fits her perfectly as she loves soccer and American football. In China, it means one thing, in Alabama it means another. Leslie Osborne also won a game, taking home a knock-off purse that looked like a big pearl. She called it “pretty cute.” Marian Dalmy and Christie Pearce also won a game each. They got t-shirts. The team had its usual pre-game meeting after dinner and then settled down for a quiet evening.

HOORAY, 3-0! Great goal by all - Wambach, Boxx and Lily! Boxx's goal was the best one from just outside the box awesome awesome.

This world cup is going to get intense and I have a feeling that we might face Brazil next. We can win it!!

GO GIRLS!

WOW! What a game! Way to go ladies; you did great! And it finally looked like you were having fun out there - that's what we like to see!

Now we're wondering who you would like to play next, Australia or Brazil? We'll be watching the games tomorrow to see who else is going to the semis.

Rest up girls we are all very proud of you! We were also SO glad to see some smiles out there on the field! WAY TO GO TEAM USA!!

Ryan not using subs in the 65+ minute is BIZARRE! up 3-0...in the quarters with potentially 2 games to go and no subs?! Ryan himself said that he saw a bit of fatigue from his players. So what gives? Isn't it important to give other people experience and rest up others? We'll never know when we might need Tarps, Kai, etc...

Was Ryan still trying to build team chemistry or something? This has just been bothering me all morning.

great job ladies. an inspiring second half. can't wait to see the match against brazil (likely). should be a grand test of play.

this has by far been the best women's world cup ever, of which the US has done well to maintain their level of play. i think we will have to step it up a bit in the next 2 rounds, but I have no doubt the WNT will rise to the occasion and once again enthrall the imagination of all those proud to root for the stars and stripes.

bring it home ladies.
