MatchACCESS is Back

This just in: Fans will be able to watch next weekend's USA vs. Canada game on May 10 via web streaming on ussoccer.com's MatchACCESS. The game will be streamed live at 7 p.m. ET from RFK Stadium, the USA's first visit to the historic venue since the 2003 FIFA Women's World Cup. The USA will travel from Birmingham, Alabama, to Washington, D.C. tomorrow to set up camp in the nation's capitol. The squad will have Monday off before hitting the training field on Tuesday in preparation for the Canada match. U.S. head coach Pia Sundhage's boxer -- which she named Cruyff Pele Beckenbauer -- will surely be watching from Sweden, where he stays with her sister while Pia is in the USA.

Does this mean that we will be able to actually watch the game? That would be great since I don't have cable.

Rockin! I am so stoked for watching the game live. However, made props to the people running MATCHACCESS because they have done an amazing job with the commentary. Oh, and yay for Pia's Boxer!

Maybe it is a stupid question, but I'm from the Netherlands and my English is not that good.

I always try to make good English sentences and always try to understand everything I read here,

But what does "props to ...." mean?
Like in localkid808's comment.
I think it's something positive like thank you or wel done...

I like the US WNT a lot and I read about "props" often on this blog. Maybe someone can eplain it to me.

And of course it's great that we can watch the match against the Canadians online. The match on FSC was great too..

Romano28 <3 #18.... per Urbandictionary.com "props"
American Slang term for "accolades", "proper respect", or "just dues". Popularized in the 1980s by rappers who shortened the term "propers" which was in turn being used as an abbreviated version of "proper respect" at least by the 1960s. The increase in this term's usage during the late 1980s and early 1990s coincided with an increasing fascination with the mafia within rap circles. Both communities have traditionally placed great emphasis on the importance of earning and giving respect.

Props, short for Propers, -Don't forget that the entire word "propers" is used in the song "Respect", written by Otis Redding and most famously recorded by Aretha Franklin in 1967. At least, I think it is ("all I'm askin' in return honey is to give me my propers when I get home")-

Sorry for the long response.

Is it possible to watch the game through MatchACCESS after the game is over? I've never used MatchACCESS before and don't really know how it works. I wish I could watch the game live but unfortunately my soccer team has it's first game of the season at the same time :-(
