Back at It

The U.S. team hit the training ground this morning for its last practice in China at the Women’s World Cup. Spirits were high, and truth be told, the team was glad to be out doing what they love to do, kicking the soccer ball around. The team has now been in China for 33 days, a long road trip by any standards, and the players are anxious to end the tournament on a high note, then get some much deserved rest before playing their final three matches of 2007 on October 13, 17 and 20, all against Mexico. After the Norway match, the team will spend much of the evening with friends and family, before heading back to the USA on Monday.

Well ladies, I may not agree with everything that's happened but I still love ALL of you and only want to see everything back the way it was before this World Cup. Yes, the World Cup is HUGE and yes it's what you've been working toward for years. In the grand scheme of things though, it's still just a game and it is the people behind it that really matter. I pray with all of my heart that no relationships are permanently damaged because of this. That would be worse than losing the World Cup. I'll see you all in the morning (my morning, your evening).

Namaste,
Catherine

Girls,

I'm here to wish you good luck tomorrow. You're world class athletes and I have no doubt that there is nothing but the game on your mind and making your country proud.

Send the rest of the world a message! Let them know that US soccer is going to be a force to be reckoned with for years to come!

Ladies,

Mistakes & redemption. Coach Ryan & Hope both made mistakes and both have a chance to redeem themselves. Coach Ryan and the 20 sooner. Hope, I hope soon enough. Lets move fwd. & end Cina 2007 on a win. I Hope Bazil wins so we can say we lost to the best. Great learning experience for all. Go US.

Great play and great win ladies. The 2nd half was much much better than the first half and everyone who came on did well too. Great job! Now it's really home on a high note.

YAY USA! :D

The team is head back, eh? How about Hope? Is she going to be "allowed" to travel with the team? Or, perhaps she should be forced to travel alone, as the team has decided she is not worthy to be with them.

The treatment of one player by the entire team is not lost on me. The team does not deserve any support until THEY apologize to Hope and the fans.
