The U.S. team was fortunate enough to arrive in its waiting area for the flight to Beijing this morning just about the time Michael Phelps was stepping into the starting blocks to chase his seventh gold medal of the Olympic Games. And fortunately for the team, there was a flat screen tuned into what turned out to be a legendary race, won by the slimmest of possible margins. Can you say "a fingernail"?
